YouTube Kids app is available in the US for about 9 months. After the US, YouTube Kids app is now available in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. The app is accessible on Android and iOS. It provides content (filtered videos and channels) for kids of all ages. Google says that the YouTube Kids app has been downloaded above 10 million times by American parents.

Kids can now watch a range of filtered content by means of the app for free from the Google Play. The app is accessible from Apple’s App Store also. YouTube says kids will be able to find out content easily by means of the larger images and icons. It has commenced a voice search option also. YouTube Kids app contains content of four categories: Music, Shows, Learning and Explore. It has built in parental control facilities.
The app has feature to “flag” videos that the parents think unsuitable for children. To assure parents, Google adds option to deactivate the search function in the app. The app eliminates social features like comments. It also removes the facility to upload videos. It has fixed timer to limit its use.
